Jules Verne The Mysterious Island - Jules Verne

The Mysterious Island is one of the most famous novels and read the writer Jules Verne published in Magasin d'Education et de Recreation of January 1, 1874 (Volume 19, Number 217) to December 15, 1875 (Volume 22, Number 264), and in one volume the November 22, 1875. Considered by many as his masterpiece.

It shows the author's admiration for applied science, as present in all his work, synthesized through one of his characters that contains in itself the knowledge and ability to adapt to the environment of man: the engineer Cyrus Smith. This character, which has a wide general knowledge, articulates the story and makes it plausible.

The book is part of a trilogy that also make Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and The Castaways , adjusted all the movies many times.

Synopsis:

During the American Civil War, five men managed to escape the siege of Richmond in a balloon that eventually end up crashing on a desert island of the South Seas. The five partners have nothing but their wits to survive. Soon the island was full of secrets, mysteries and riddles.
