Sir Anthony Hope Hawkins, was a British writer (1863 - 1933).

Born February 9, 1863 in London. He studied at Cambridge University and practiced law from 1887 to 1894. His first work was A Man of Mark (1890).

His most famous novel is The Prisoner of Zenda (1894), which brings us to the fictional kingdom of Ruritania, where the King Rudolf V is replaced by time Rodolfo Rassendyll his cousin (who falls in love with Princess Flavia). Another of his most famous works is the sequel to this, Rupert of Hentzau (1898). He was recognized for his work as Sir propaganda in favor of Great Britain during the First World War. Some of his works were made into films many times, notably The Prisoner of Zenda .

died on July 8, 1933 at 70 years of age.
