To promote responsible forest management by the President of the Honduran Council for Voluntary Forest Certification FSC Honduras CH-CFV, Caballero Medardo Cardona, signed framework agreement with the Minister of the National Institute of Forest Conservation (ICF), José Trinidad Suazo.
The Honduran Council for Voluntary Forest Certification (CFV-CH ) is the National Office who represents the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC Forest Stewardship Council worldwide) in Honduras. The FSC is an organization that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of forests in the world and is headquartered in Bonn, Germany.
By signing the agreement, which will run for 3 years, the CH-CFV Honduras FSC is committed to support the ICF in developing an incentive program to FSC certified operations, which rewards drivers of forest their efforts in the sustainable management of them.
Similarly, should provide updated information on the area, timber volumes, timber suppliers offer proprietary products source to fully inform stakeholders responsible procurement actions for certified products.
The ICF in turn support the process of independent forest certification FSC, promoting the sustainable management of forests in the country, promote other government agencies to purchase forest products certified under the FSC system.

The signing of the agreement took place in the city of Tegucigalpa, an act in which the CH-CFV FSC Honduras signed also an agreement with the National School of Forestry (ESNACIFOR) and letter of understanding with Centro Universitario del Litoral Atlántico (CURLA).
