Omoa Courts .- The Mayor of Omoa, Cortes, Ricardo Alvarado Escobar, plaque presented to the National Institute of Forest Conservation (ICF), in appreciation for the work of resource protection natural and its contribution to projects community in this county.
This recognition was received by the Protected Areas Coordinator of the Regional North West, Alex Vallejo, in an event that took place at City Hall on Omoa, Cortes, in which the officer released the efforts and l ICF is developing in order to obtain declaration of a Protected Area, Cuyamel Omoa National Park, in coordination with Project Management Sustainable Watershed Natural Resources and the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor in the Atlantic Honduran (PROCORREDOR), with funding from the European Union.
Among the processes and procedures, explain Vallejo, are being developed the process of declaration of protected area management plan, the rules of use, the physical demarcation, construction of infrastructure including control booths, visitor center and implementation of productive projects to benefit communities.
