The National Institute of Forest Conservation and Development, Protected Areas and Wildlife (ICF) developed the Plan Management and demarcation of Protected Area, Habitat Management Area by the Honduran Emerald hummingbird species, with emphasis on the area established in the decree establishing 159-2005.
The protected area management under the category of habitat management area for species conservation objectives will include:
sustainably use the forest too tropical dry to conserve the habitat of the Honduran emerald hummingbird and other endemic endangered species or natural area protected, develop scientific research to generate knowledge about our natural wealth.
create opportunities for environmental education and ecotourism within the protected area and their catchment areas, and restore habitat areas of the Honduran emerald hummingbird and other species that are endemic in the area.
