Thank Lempira.-President of the National Congress of the Republic, Juan Orlando Hernández, presented the initial contribution of 500 000 lempiras to finance the activities of the security plan of the Association of Municipalities of the National Park Celaque (MAPAC).
Similarly, the Executive Director of the National Institute of Forest Conservation and Development, Protected Areas and Wildlife (ICF), José Trinidad Suazo, the launching of the Law on the Promotion and Protection Mountain National Park Celaque PROCELAQUE and fire protection campaign.
The purpose of this law is to recognize the MAPAC as the authority for the protection, management and promotion of the park by way of co operation with the State of Honduras, which for the purposes of the Act PROCELAQUE identified as a body controller that will work with technical independence, managerial, budgetary and management.
The Celaque Mountain National Park, located in the western region of Honduras, between the departments of Copán, Lempira Ocotepeque and was created by Decree 87/87, by which will benefit 11 municipalities in western country, (7 lempira 3 of Copán and 1 Ocotepeque) which amount to more than 34.900 inhabitants.
