ICF and the Ministry of Social Development: Promoting Program improve incomes in rural and marginal urban and INJ ICF

C on the purpose of improving incomes in rural and marginal urban areas of the country through the implementation of projects conducive to improving their living conditions, environmental conservation and reduction vulnerability to natural disasters, the Ministry of Social Development and the Conservation Institute (ICF), coordinate actions for the implementation of "Honduras Development Program", which generate additional income in activities to protect and restore national forest .

This program is run with unskilled labor, under the guidance of the Decree No. 107-2010, the Supplemental Income Act in Rural and Urban marginal driving the President of Congress, Attorney Juan Orlando Hernández; which has amongst its aims to coordinate efforts and build institutional human capacity. The staff is dedicated to the implementation of construction activities of 841 miles of rounds for the Prevention of forest fires and plant production for reforestation and cleaning of over 800 hectares with regeneration.

With the implementation of this program starts the installation of 12 nurseries to ensure the production of 1,181,340 plants of different species to be used for restoration watershed recovery areas affected by fires, forest pests and diseases, debris, livestock etc., plants that high economic value for timber, firewood, and other ornamentation.

The budget for the implementation of the Programme is a contribution by the Central Government through the Ministry of Social Development, with which the ICF focuses more than 2 thousand people, men and women, to benefit the family economy of rural and marginal urban area in the Departments Francisco Morazan, Atlántida, Colón, Copán, Ocotepeque, Lempira, Olancho, El Paraiso, Choluteca, Valle, Yoro, Comayagua, La Paz, thank God, Intibucá, Cortes, Santa Barbara and the Bay Islands.

Running prevention and combat of forest fires reduces the risk of natural disasters, improving the quality of life and strengthens and boosts the local economy, compliance with the provisions the Government of National Unity, under the Vision of Country and Nation Plan promoted by the President of the Republic Bachelor Porfirio Lobo Sosa.
