ICF, Make Actions for Strengthening the National System of Protected Areas of Honduras (SINAPH)

Tela, Atlántida .- In order to support the institutions linked to conservation, sustainable use and management of protected areas the Honduran Caribbean Biological Corridor, for the consolidation of SINAPH was held the workshop "Linking Component Actors Protected Areas" Project Sustainable Management of Natural Resources and Watershed Mesoamerican Biological Corridor in the Atlantic Honduran PROCORREDOR.
The day was developed with an approach of the current situation in the region and the need for synergies between stakeholders to promote and consolidate SINAPH also identified actions, priority to define the guidelines for action in the search results to guide to improve their actions.

With the completion of the workshop is to also make arrangements to ensure the conservation of biodiversity and guidelines to guide the system as a whole so that will achieve the greatest environmental benefits that protected areas provide.
The National Institute of Forest Conservation and Development, Protected Areas and Wildlife (ICF), presented his strategic vision, drive actions, specific developments in each of the 6 grants implemented declared nature reserves and proposals to: Cuero y Salado, Cusuco, Jeannette Kawas, Dumps, Rio Tinto, and actions for the sustainable management of watersheds on the Atlantic coast.

The activity was attended by representatives of the National Institute of Forest Conservation and Development (ICF), Co Managers of protected areas, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (SERNA), Life Foundation and the National Chamber of Tourism Honduras (CANATURH), among others.

The event was attended Vice Minister of Protected Areas of ICF, Jose Antonio Galdames, the Representative of the European Union and Head of International Technical Assistance; Humberto van der Zel, the Chief of the Forest Region of Atlantis, Cáceres Carla Johnson, among other personnel who coordinate and develop activities in the area.
